Tron: Legacy
I wound up watching the last two-thirds of the film after all. I actually enjoyed it, which surprised me because I didn’t really like the original Tron. I have a couple of problems with it, though. Spoilers under the cut.
For starters, I didn’t like the four beautiful women cutting off Sam’s clothes. How… tacky.
Why did Flynn have to destroy himself to take out CLU?
How is Quorra going to handle the real world? I mean, she’s probably never gone to the bathroom before. Or got sweaty. Or had sex. It’s a ridiculous thing to think of, but there are all kinds of things humans do that she wouldn’t have done as a program.
Other comments: holy crap was the movie beautiful. I fucking loved the style of the film. Between the visuals and the music, I really didn’t care that much about the plot. I mean, it was an enjoyable picture, but it was a sensory experience more than anything else. In ten years I’m sure the style will look as horrible dated as the original Tron looks now, but it was still cool. I liked it.
